June 2025 Outreach
It was a memorable one @brookofolives! It was our quarterly economic empowerment program and we were able to empower 4 Widows. At Aleyita community, We started a fabric business for the tailor, Donated clothes for the groundnut seller widow to start a thrift business, then we moved to Giri, where we supplied bags of Fertilizer and herbicides for the widow farmer. It was a fulfilling day! What started with all tears and gloominess, ended with big fat smiles and tears of joy on the faces of these Widows.

Safiya's Story
As soon as Safiya saw us during our first contact in Feburary, she could not hold back her tears for no reason other than she felt 'seen'. So we had to interview her. Can you imagine that Safiya's house was sold when her husband died leaving her and kids including her baby! #Letwidowsbreathe Anyways, fast forward to June when we visited her farm and donated bags of fertilizer to help her farming business. At Brook of Olives, we align with the SDG 1 to eradicate poverty as well as protect against gender based violence.
